AI receptionist for US salons and spas: which software answers the phone?

Which US salon and spa software answers the phone with AI?

Answers calls and books during the call

• GlossGenius (Reception). Handles calls, texts and bookings, and reschedules and cancels. Free through November 30, 2026, then an optional $50-a-month add-on, per GlossGenius (GlossGenius). CallPad books into it: yes.
• Booksy (AI Receptionist, beta). Picks up and books, in English or Spanish. Current Booksy providers can request access (Booksy). CallPad books into it: not listed.
• Mangomint (Mira). Answers texts and phone calls, and helps clients book, reschedule and cancel (Mira). CallPad books into it: no.
• Meevo (AI Receptionist in MeevoIQ). Picks up, "has a real conversation, and gets the client on the books" (Meevo). CallPad books into it: not listed.
• SalonBiz (Brook AI). Finds available appointments and books them directly in SalonBiz, and handles reschedules and cancellations (SalonBiz). CallPad books into it: not listed.
• Zenoti (AI Receptionist). Answers missed and after-hours calls 24/7, then books, reschedules and confirms appointments, with a handover to a person when needed (Zenoti). CallPad books into it: yes.

Answers calls, books by link

• Boulevard (Beau, beta). Answers calls, but sends a booking link for new appointments and a client portal link to reschedule or cancel. Boulevard says it can't currently book memberships, packages, gift cards, group appointments or bookings at another location (Boulevard support). CallPad books into it: no.

We found no native AI phone receptionist

• Vagaro. Vera is an AI chatbot that replies to messages and sends links to book, reschedule or cancel (Vagaro). CallPad answers every call and captures booking requests, and live booking into Vagaro is in the works (join the waitlist).
• Mindbody. AI Concierge covers website chat, two-way SMS and texts after missed calls, and is in beta (Mindbody support). CallPad books into it: yes, classes and appointments.
• Square Appointments. Square's AI voice feature takes orders, not appointments (Square support). CallPad books into it: yes.
• Setmore. Its Live Receptionist uses real people, and Setmore markets it as "No AI, no bots, no voicemail" (Setmore). CallPad books into it: yes.

"Not listed" means CallPad doesn't list that platform as an integration today. It isn't a statement about what's technically possible.

If your software already answers calls, what should you compare?

If you're on GlossGenius, Zenoti, Mangomint, Meevo, SalonBiz or Booksy, your platform's own AI may be all you need. Before you decide, check:

1. Can it book with a named stylist and the right service length?
2. Can it take deposits under your policy?
3. Does it book consultations and packages? Boulevard, for example, lists packages and memberships among what Beau can't book yet.
4. What happens when a caller wants a person? Look for a transfer or a message your team can act on.
5. What does it cost after any free period?

What if your software doesn't answer calls?

Callers don't wait long. In a survey of US consumers, only 42% said they leave a voicemail when a business doesn't answer, and 21% said they immediately call another business (CallRail, 2025). Zenoti reports that only 24% of callers who reach voicemail leave a message, based on its own customer data (Zenoti, 2025).

GlossGenius lists Reception as free through November 30, 2026, then $50 a month as an optional add-on. Treat other platforms' prices as unknown until they publish them.
