What does CallPad do in Mindbody?

Missed-call text-back or a live voice receptionist?

A text-back reaches the caller after they've hung up. They have to read the text, reply and finish booking later, and by then some have already called someone else. A live answer books them during the call.

The numbers show why the first moments matter. In a survey of US consumers, only 42% said they leave a voicemail when a business doesn't answer, and 21% said they immediately call another business (CallRail, 2025). Zenoti reports that only 24% of callers who reach voicemail leave a message, based on its own customer data (Zenoti, 2025).

What does Mindbody's AI Concierge do, and not do?

As of October 2026, Mindbody's support pages describe AI Concierge like this:

• Channels: website chat, two-way SMS and automatic texts after missed calls (AI Concierge FAQ).
• Missed calls: when a forwarded call goes unanswered, AI Concierge plays your voicemail greeting, texts the caller booking information, typically within about a minute, and transcribes any voicemail (Mindbody: voicemail and call forwarding).
• Bookings: it can book, reschedule or cancel by chat or text, but it can be set up for either appointments or classes, not both (AI Concierge overview).
• Availability: it's in beta and not available to all customers.

So the two do different jobs. AI Concierge covers chat and text. CallPad covers live calls, and books both classes and appointments.

Can you use both?

Yes. AI Concierge's chat and SMS run on its own texting number, so they can keep working. For calls, you choose where unanswered calls on your business line forward to: CallPad, which answers live, or AI Concierge, which plays your voicemail greeting and texts the caller back.

How do you set it up?

It takes about 10 minutes:

1. Connect your Mindbody account to CallPad.
2. Check that your services, staff and booking rules are right.
