How Call Diversion Works

Call diversion (or call forwarding) lets you choose when calls to your business number get sent somewhere else — like your CallPad number. There are a few types you can set up:

  • All calls – Every call is forwarded straight away.
  • When busy – Calls forward only if you’re already on another call.
  • When unanswered – Calls ring your phone first, then forward if you don’t pick up.
  • When unreachable – Calls forward if your phone is off or out of signal.

We recommend setting up “when unanswered” — that way, your team still gets the chance to answer if they’re available, and CallPad automatically picks up when they can’t.

BT Landline

Preferred (easiest): Set up via BT Cloud Voice Express app

Or set up from the BT handset using codes (then press Call/Send):

You can run 61 and 67 together. If 21 is active, it overrides the others.
