The best med spa AI receptionist offers a BAA, books into the system you use and sends clinical calls to staff. We compare the options, checked Oct 2026.

The best AI receptionist for a med spa is the one that offers a BAA, books straight into the system you already use, and sends every clinical question to your staff. If you run Zenoti, its own receptionist is native. CallPad offers a BAA. It books in real time into Zenoti, Mindbody and GlossGenius.

Checked October 2026. Every vendor fact below comes from that vendor's own website, checked on 16 October 2026.

How should a med spa choose an AI receptionist?

Use three filters. The guides we found that compare AI receptionists for med spas use the same three: who offers a BAA, where the booking lands, and what happens to clinical calls.

1. Does the vendor offer a BAA?

If your calls include protected health information, you need a Business Associate Agreement with the vendor that handles them. Ask whether the vendor offers one, and on which plan. Whether a cash-pay med spa is a HIPAA covered entity is a question for your counsel. Our guide to AI receptionists, HIPAA and BAAs for med spas explains the basics.

CallPad offers a BAA.

2. Where does the booking land?

The strongest option writes the appointment into your booking system during the call, with the right provider, service length and consult type. Weaker options text the caller a link to finish booking, or book into a shared calendar that someone has to re-key.

3. What happens to clinical calls?

An AI receptionist shouldn't discuss candidacy, dosing, medications, reactions or results. Look for a clear list of what it won't say, and a way to get clinical calls to your staff, either by transfer or by an urgent message.

Two more checks: after-hours coverage, and how it handles consult fees and deposits.

How do the options compare?

Disclosure: CallPad publishes this guide and is one of the options in it. CallPad books into Zenoti, Mindbody, GlossGenius and others listed below. It does not live-book into Boulevard, Mangomint or Aesthetic Record, and live booking into Vagaro is in the works. Facts about other vendors come from their own websites, checked on 16 October 2026.

We haven't ranked the options. CallPad publishes this page, so a numbered list wouldn't be credible. Each option below shows what its own website says.

Booking platforms with their own AI receptionist

For these, the BAA question is one to ask the platform directly. We don't state any booking platform's BAA terms here.

  • Zenoti AI Receptionist. Native to Zenoti. Answers missed and after-hours calls 24/7, then books, reschedules and confirms appointments in Zenoti, with a handover to a person when needed. BAA: ask Zenoti. (Zenoti)
  • GlossGenius Reception. Native to GlossGenius. Handles calls and texts, books, reschedules and cancels appointments. BAA: ask GlossGenius. (GlossGenius)
  • Mangomint (Mira). Answers texts and phone calls, and helps clients book, reschedule and cancel appointments. BAA: ask Mangomint. (Mira)
  • Boulevard (Beau, beta). Answers calls, but books new appointments by texting a booking link. Boulevard says it can't currently book memberships, packages, gift cards, group appointments or bookings at another location. BAA: ask Boulevard. (Boulevard support)

Independent AI receptionists

  • Mayla. Says it signs "a BAA with every med spa client" and lists native integrations with Jane App, Mindbody, Vagaro and Boulevard. We didn't find a stated clinical-escalation process on the page we checked. (Mayla)
  • Lippy. Says it "signs a BAA before any protected health information flows through". Its pricing table lists the HIPAA BAA on its Enterprise (custom) plan. It names Boulevard, Vagaro, Mindbody, Mangomint, Square, Google Calendar and Aesthetic Record among the tools it books into. (Lippy)
  • First Ring. Says a "BAA [is] available on the Growth plan". It lists two-way sync with Boulevard, Vagaro, Mindbody, Mangomint and Aesthetic Record, and says post-procedure concerns go to the right person. (First Ring)
  • Keragon. Says every paid plan includes a BAA. By its own description, it handles forms, texts and missed-call text-back natively, and phone calls through "a connected voice AI". (Keragon)
  • CallPad. Native voice AI that answers calls 24/7. It books in real time with a named provider into Zenoti, Mindbody, Booker, Square, GlossGenius, Setmore and Google Calendar, including consult types. On Vagaro, it answers calls and captures booking requests (live booking into Vagaro is in the works). It does not book into Boulevard, Mangomint, Aesthetic Record or Jane. Clinical calls go to your staff: CallPad can transfer the call to a team member or take a message. Setup takes about 10 minutes. (CallPad for med spas)

Which option fits your med spa?

  • If you already run Zenoti: Zenoti's own AI Receptionist is native to your system. CallPad also books into Zenoti in real time.
  • If you run Boulevard, Mangomint or Aesthetic Record: choose a tool whose own site says it writes bookings back to your system. First Ring and Lippy name these platforms on their pages. Mangomint has Mira built in. CallPad doesn't book into these systems.
  • If you run Mindbody: we found no native AI phone receptionist on Mindbody's pages. Its AI Concierge covers chat, texts and missed-call text-back. CallPad books both classes and appointments into Mindbody in real time.
  • If you run Vagaro: we found no native AI phone receptionist on Vagaro's pages. CallPad answers Vagaro calls and captures booking requests, and live booking into Vagaro is in the works: join the waitlist to be first to know.
  • If you want a BAA without an enterprise contract: Mayla and Keragon say a BAA comes with their med spa clients or paid plans, and First Ring offers one on its Growth plan. CallPad offers a BAA. Ask each vendor for the terms.

Why does call answering matter for a med spa?

A missed consult call can mean a lost new client. In a survey of US consumers, only 42% said they leave a voicemail when a business doesn't answer, and 21% said they immediately call another business (CallRail, 2025). Zenoti reports that only 24% of callers who reach voicemail leave a message, based on its own customer data (Zenoti, 2025).

What about consult fees and deposits?

Ask each vendor how it handles them. CallPad can take a deposit on the call, either by texting a payment link or using a card on file in your booking system. You set the policy.

Frequently asked questions

Do med spas need a BAA for an AI receptionist?

If calls include protected health information and the med spa is a covered entity, yes. Whether you're a covered entity is a question for counsel. CallPad offers a BAA.

Can an AI receptionist book Botox and filler consultations?

It can book the consultation. Whether a treatment is suitable is decided by your providers at the consult, not by the AI.

What should an AI receptionist never say at a med spa?

Anything about candidacy, dosing, medications, reactions or results. Those calls should go to your staff.

Does Boulevard have an AI receptionist?

Yes, Beau, which is in beta. It answers calls and books by sending a link, according to Boulevard's support page (checked October 2026).

Which AI receptionist works with Zenoti?

Zenoti's own AI Receptionist, and CallPad, which books into Zenoti in real time.

Should I choose an AI receptionist or an answering service?

An AI receptionist answers every call at once, 24/7, and can book in real time. A human answering service often takes messages instead. Setmore's Live Receptionist, for example, uses real people.

How long does CallPad take to set up?

About 10 minutes.
