What does Booksy's AI Receptionist do?

According to Booksy (Booksy, checked 18 October 2026), its AI Receptionist:

• answers calls when you're with a client, when you're closed, or all the time
• recognizes returning clients by the number they call from
• creates a client card for first-time callers
• books from your service menu and real-time availability, straight onto your calendar
• speaks English or Spanish
• sends you a summary and a callback request when it can't handle something
• filters spam calls
• logs every call with a full transcript
• gives you a dedicated Booksy phone number, which you can forward your existing number to

Booksy lists its terms for the beta on its site.

What can't it do yet?

Booksy says (Booksy):

• it's in beta and still being built
• appointments with No-Show Protection enabled, such as those needing a deposit or a strict cancellation policy, aren't supported in this first version

What should you check in any AI receptionist?

• Does it book during the call? Some send a link instead.
• Can it book a named barber or stylist? Regulars usually want their own.
• Can it take a deposit on the call?
• What happens when a caller wants a person? Look for a live transfer or a message your team can act on.
