Quick answer: The best AI receptionist for a Canadian spa or med spa books straight into the system you already run, with the provider the client asks for, and passes clinical questions to your team. If your software has its own AI receptionist, start there. Otherwise, compare independent tools that name your system, then test each one with real calls.

Six options, grouped by type. Built-in options come first, then independent tools in alphabetical order, so CallPad isn't placed first. We haven't ranked them.

Answers missed and after-hours calls 24/7, then books, reschedules and confirms appointments by voice or text. It books single or multiple services, considers provider preferences, and transfers to a person when a guest asks (Zenoti).
Jane is headquartered in North Vancouver (Jane). Its AI Receptionist is in development. Today its virtual receptionists are real people who answer under your number, Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 5:30pm local time, as a paid add-on. See Does Jane App have an AI receptionist?.
Handles scheduling requests and questions by SMS and WhatsApp, and hands complex conversations to your team (Phorest). Phorest sells to salons, spas and med spas in Canada.
A 24/7 AI receptionist for many industries, with spa and medical pages. It books during the call, offers live human agent backup, and supports English and Spanish out of the box. Its Jane App page mentions HIPAA and PIPEDA and says a BAA is available (AgentZap).
An AI receptionist built only for beauty and wellness businesses, with Canada as one of its main markets. It answers every call 24/7 and books in real time with a named provider, including consultation appointment types (booking systems CallPad works with).
A Toronto-built AI receptionist with a beauty and wellness page. Its FAQ says it is compliant with HIPAA, SOC 2 and PIPEDA. It books, takes payments on the call by keypad, handles multi-service bookings and works in 40-plus languages (Kickcall).
PIPEDA covers how private-sector businesses collect, use and disclose personal information in commercial activity. Alberta, British Columbia and Quebec have their own private-sector laws that are deemed substantially similar, and Ontario, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia and Newfoundland and Labrador have similar laws for personal health information (Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada, checked 19 Oct 2026). This is general information, not legal advice. Ask each vendor where call recordings and client details are stored and who can access them. For marketing texts, follow CASL: get consent, identify your business and offer a way to unsubscribe (CRTC).
CallPad is an AI receptionist for salons, spas, med spas and clinics in the US, UK, Australia and Canada. It answers every call 24/7, handles several calls at once and screens out spam calls. It answers questions from your own information, including your prices, and speaks several languages. It books, moves and cancels appointments in real time with a named stylist or practitioner on the booking systems CallPad works with, including multi-service bookings, and can take a deposit or payment on the call or sell a gift card. If you have more than one location, it asks which one the caller wants and books into that location's calendar. It also replies to texts and can book by text, sends missed-call text-backs and texts clients on your waitlist when a slot opens up. When a caller needs a person, it transfers the call to your team or takes a message, and your team gets an email saying what the caller wanted. Setup takes about 10 minutes. For clinical questions, it hands the call to your team rather than answering itself.
The one that books straight into the system you already run, with the provider the client asks for, and passes clinical questions to your team. If your software has its own AI receptionist, such as Zenoti's, start there. Otherwise compare independent tools that name your system, then test them with real calls.
Not yet. Jane says its AI Receptionist is in development. Today Jane offers virtual receptionists who are real people, available Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 5:30pm local time in Canada and the US, as a paid add-on.
No. It should book consultations and treatments and answer general questions such as hours, prices and preparation details you provide, but clinical questions should go to a qualified member of your team. CallPad transfers the call to your team or takes a message for those calls.
It depends on your province and what you collect. PIPEDA covers private-sector businesses in commercial activity, while Alberta, British Columbia and Quebec have their own substantially similar private-sector laws, and several provinces have health information laws. Check with the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada or an adviser.
