What does Treatwell's AI Receptionist do?

According to Treatwell (Treatwell, checked 18 October 2026), its AI Receptionist:

• answers calls day or night and books, reschedules and cancels in your Treatwell calendar
• uses your Treatwell menu, staff and opening hours
• checks real-time availability and suggests other times or stylists
• confirms bookings by text
• transfers the call, or sends a call-back alert to WhatsApp and Treatwell Connect, when a client wants a person
• shows full transcripts in Treatwell Connect
• introduces itself honestly as an AI
• flags new questions so you can add the answer once
• lets you choose a name and voice, and works with your existing number when you forward it

Treatwell lists its pricing on its site.

What can't it do yet?

Treatwell says (Treatwell):

• it can't take payments over the phone yet, so clients pay in the salon
• answering on WhatsApp is coming "soon"

What should a UK salon check in any AI receptionist?

• Can it take a deposit on the call? Useful if you protect long colour or extension appointments.
• Does it handle patch tests?
• Can it book multi-service appointments with processing time, such as colour and a cut?
• What happens when a caller wants a person? Look for a live transfer or a message your team can act on.
