What IQConnect is

Welcome! IQConnect answers your phone when your team can't get to it. It talks with the caller and books them right into your calendar.

What if a caller doesn't want to book by phone? No problem. They can leave a message, just like voicemail. Then a person from your team calls them back. No one is ever forced to book. Think of IQConnect as a voicemail that can also book appointments.

How a call works

A client calls your salon's normal phone number.

Your services, stylists, prices, and appointment lengths all come from your booking software. IQConnect follows the same rules your online booking does.

IQConnect knows repeat clients by their phone number. New callers just say their name.

IQConnect only talks about the caller's own appointments. No one can ask about other clients. It follows privacy laws.

If something looks wrong, check your booking software settings first. That's usually where the fix is.

03 · Getting set up

Your 4 setup steps

Do these four things, in order. Most salons finish them in a day or two.

Fill out the setup form

It takes less than 10 minutes. It asks about things your booking software doesn't know: parking, age rules, your deposit rules, and the questions clients ask most.

Call your new IQConnect number to test it

We give you a special phone number where IQConnect answers. Call it. Try booking. Try changing an appointment. Ask it hard questions. Tip: call from a quiet room, not on speakerphone. IQConnect hears everything, even the TV.

Send us your notes, then say you're ready

Email us anything you want changed. We make the change within 24 hours. When you're happy, we send your payment link. Pay by card or bank transfer, month to month. You can pause any time with one email.

Turn on call forwarding. You're live!

Set your phone to send unanswered calls to your IQConnect number after 4 rings. As soon as you save that setting, IQConnect is working. The next section shows you how.

Think of the first two weeks like training a new team member. IQConnect works well right away for most salons. Your notes teach it the small things that make it sound like part of your team.

04 · The most common setup question

Send calls to IQConnect

Here's how it works. We give you a IQConnect phone number. Then your phone company sends missed calls to that number. This is called "call forwarding."

The best setting: forward calls only when no one answers, after 4 rings. That way, your team always gets the first chance to pick up. It works when you're open and when you're closed.

Dial a codeOn many phones, you can type a short code to turn on forwarding. For example: dial *61*, then your IQConnect number, then #. We'll send you the exact code for your phone.
Online accountLog in to your phone company's website or app. Find "call forwarding." Choose "forward when unanswered." Type in your IQConnect number. Save.
Call your phone companyAsk them to do it for you: "Please forward unanswered calls to this number after 4 rings." That's all they need.

Cost: call forwarding is usually free on business plans. A few phone companies charge a small monthly fee. It's worth a quick check with them.

Extra idea: your IQConnect number belongs to you. Some salons put it on their website as a booking line that's open 24/7.

05 · On the call

What IQConnect can do

Book appointments

It can book more than one service in a single call, like a cut plus color with the right wait time between them. It can book a favorite stylist. If that stylist is full, it offers the closest match.

Change and cancel appointments

It frees up the old time slot so your calendar stays clean. It always offers a new appointment first. If it's a last-minute cancellation, it reads your rules to the caller, or hands the call to your team.

Take deposits

It follows your deposit rules. It uses your booking software's payment tools, or texts the caller a safe payment link. You pick the rules and can change them any time.

Take messages

If a caller asks for a person, IQConnect kindly says everyone is busy and offers to take a message. Then you get an email that says what the caller wanted.

Suggest add-ons

Give it your house rules, like "always offer a toner with color." IQConnect will offer it on every call where it fits.

Handle junk calls

Sales calls and spam calls get answered politely so your team doesn't have to deal with them.

06 · Keeping an eye on things

Your emails and dashboard

You can run everything from your email. When something needs your attention, you get an email. It tells you what happened and links to the call. You don't have to watch a screen all day.

There's also a dashboard — a webpage where you can see all your calls. Here's what it gives you:

Every call, in full. Read what was said, or listen to the recording.
A "Needs review" list with a Resolve button. Your team checks off each one after calling the client back.
Marked in your calendar. IQConnect's bookings get their own color, so everyone can see which ones it made.
As many logins as you want. We suggest one shared login for the front desk, plus one for the owner.

Teach IQConnect your salon

Email us your notes. We update how IQConnect answers, usually within 24 hours. You don't need to learn any new software.

How long does setup take?

The form takes less than 10 minutes. Then plan a day or two for test calls and notes. Most salons are live within a week.

Who sets up call forwarding — you or my phone company?

Your phone company. We give you the number. They send missed calls to it. Section 04 shows you how.

What if a caller wants to talk to a person?

IQConnect takes a message. You get an email that says what the caller wanted. Then you call back ready to help.

Can clients tell it's an AI?

IQConnect sounds natural, and it lets callers know it's an AI. You can also change its greeting and how it introduces itself.

What if a new client calls?

They just say their name. IQConnect makes a new profile for them in your booking software, the same way your front desk would.

What if someone calls from a blocked or different number?

IQConnect treats them as a new caller and asks for their name. It never shares anyone's info unless the phone number matches.

Can it book a color and a cut together, with the right wait time?

Yes. It uses the service pairings and wait times already set in your booking software.

Can it take deposits over the phone?

Yes. It uses your booking software's payment tools, or it texts the caller a safe payment link.

What about last-minute cancellations?

IQConnect reads your cancellation rules to the caller and asks them to agree. Or it hands the call to your team. You choose.

Can I pause or stop the service?

Do I have to watch a dashboard all day?

Who do I contact if something seems wrong?
